Taken as the area between the estuaries of the Tay to the north and the Eden to the south.  The area includes Tentsmuir Forest (including the surrounding moorland and dunes), the Morton Lochs, and Tentsmuir Point National Nature Reserve.

Howe of Fife

An area of low-lying land bounded by the Lomond Hills to the south-west, the Ochils to the north and north-west, and Hill of Tarvit to the east.  It includes the Letham Pools, Mountcastle Quarry, Gaddon and Birnie Lochs, Angle Park, Cairnfield Muir and Wilderness.  Images from the high ground around the Howe, and from the Firth of Tay between Newburgh and Balmerino, have been included.

The East Neuk of Fife and the Isle of May

The East Neuk is the area of Fife east of Lower Largo and south of St Andrews.  It includes Fife Ness, the fishing harbours of Crail, Anstruther, Pittenweem and St Monans, Ruddons Point, Dumbarnie Links, Cameron Reservoir and Kilconquhar Loch.

The Isle of May is off the coast of the East Neuk, and holds large numbers of breeding seabirds.  It also attracts migrants, and there is a bird observatory.
